A Practical Joker

When Doris Kettle lived in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada, they had a neighbor who was a bit of a practical joker. Doris was always looking for a religion that made sense. She would constantly invite into her home the Jehovah Witnesses, the Mormons, and any others that would knock at her door trying to share the truth. Doris was an avid reader and had a library with a variety of books to challenge the best of readers.

In 1973-1974, my husband and I traveled and lived in Europe. We got jobs on the Canadian Air Force base at Baden-Sollingen, Germany. I worked in the warehouse pricing stock and Ray Wingett worked there, too, repairing stereo equipment for military personnel. Ray and his wife, Maddie, were pioneers to nearby city of Baden-Baden, close to the Canadian Air Force base.
